Abiding in the Light

Abiding in the Light (1 John 1:1-10; 2:1-2)

Foundational Truth:

God is light and in Him is no darkness at all. (1 John 1:5)

“To ‘walk in the light’ means that everything that is of the darkness actually drives me closer to the center of the light.” Oswald Chambers

Abiding in the Light:

  1. Walking in the light and not in darkness
  2. Fellowship with God and others
  3. Confessing our sin
  4. Seeing our sin as God sees it and turning from it

We have an advocate who is the propitiation for our sin!

Application Questions:
What does it mean to walk in the light?
Where do you see spiritual darkness in this world or in your life?
Do you truly believe that He is faithful and just to forgive your sins?
What does it mean to you that you have an advocate in Jesus?
How will you abide in the Light this week?
To whom will you be a light this week?
