Truth in the Age of Deception
(1 Timothy, 2 Timothy, Titus)

I. God is the author of truth. (Titus 1:1-2; John 8:44)
A. God’s truth has been revealed in the person of God’s Son. (1 Timothy 2:6; 2 Timothy 1:12)
B. God’s truth is contained in the words of Scripture. (1 Timothy 4:6; 2 Timothy 1:13; 2:15; 3:15-16; 4:2-4; Titus 1:3,9)
C. God’s truth is preserved and upheld by the church. (1 Timothy 3:15)
D. God’s truth is knowable and must be believed. (1 Timothy 2:4,7; 4:3,6; 2 Timothy 1:12; 2:25; 3:7; Titus 1:1)

II. God’s people must be people of truth. (1 Timothy 1:5-7; John 8:32; Psalm 51:6; Ephesians 4:15)
A. We must abide in God’s Word. (John 8:31)
B. We must have the mind of Christ. (1 Corinthians 2:16)
C. We must take personal responsibility to seek truth. (John 14:6)
