Created: Six Days of Creation

Created: Six Days of Creation (Genesis 1)

Main Idea:
God created the universe out of nothing by His Word in an orderly manner as an expression of His love. Our response should be to thank, praise, serve, and obey Him.

I. God brings form from formlessness and fullness from emptiness. (Genesis 1:2; Titus 3:5)

II. The Spirit of God was hovering over the face of the waters. (Genesis 1:2: Deuteronomy 32:11)

III. God brings light into the darkness. (Genesis 1:3-5; 1 John 1:5, Revelation 21:23; Matthew 5:14-16)

IV. By the word of the Lord all things were created out of nothing. (Genesis 1:3, 6, 9, 11, 14, 20, 24, 26, 29; Psalm 33:6,9; Hebrews 11:3)

V. Creation is an expression of God’s love. (1 John 4:8, 16; John 1:1; John 3:16)

“For in six days the Lord made the heavens and the earth, the sea, and all that is in them, and rested the seventh day.” Exodus 20:11
