The Lord’s Prayer: “Forever”
(Matthew 6:13)
1. “I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End,” says the Lord, “who is and who was and who is to come, the Almighty.” (Revelation 1:8; Psalm 45:6; 2 Peter 3:8; Exodus 3:14; Hebrews 1:8; 13:8)
2. “Give thanks to the LORD, for he is good! His faithful love endures forever (NLT).” (Psalm 136:1; Psalm 100:5; Lamentations 3:22-23; Romans 8:38-39)
3. “But this Man, after He had offered one sacrifice for sins forever, sat down at the right hand of God…” (Hebrews 10:12; 1 Peter 1:18-19; Isaiah 51:6; Matthew 28:1-10)
4. “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.” (John 3:16; 1 Corinthians 15:54-57; 1 Thessalonians 4:16-17; Revelation 22:1-5)
APPLICATION:
How long is forever?
What things in your life have lasting and eternal value?
Consider the implications of God’s name “I Am.”
How important is the Resurrection? Why?
Look up additional verses that contain the word “forever.”
Read a description of eternity in the last two chapters of the Bible (Revelation 21-22).
Have you received God’s gift of eternal life?
Have you shared this gift with others?
Happy Easter. He has risen. Blessings to you all.
