“Our Father”

The Lord’s Prayer: “Our Father”
(Matthew 6:9)

Our Father who art in heaven, hallowed be Thy name. Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread; and forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors; and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For Thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory forever. Amen.

1. Our Father is an abundant provider. (Matthew 7:9-11; Philippians 4:19; Luke 12:22-31)

2. Our Father shows us mercy and grace. (Luke 15:11-32; 1 John 1:9)

3. Our Father shows us unconditional and perfect love. (John 3:16-17; 1 John 3:1; 1 John 4:18)

Romans 8:15
For you did not receive the spirit of bondage again to fear, but you received the Spirit of adoption by whom we cry out, “Abba, Father.”

Application Questions:
Do you have trouble relating to God as “Our Father”?
Do you trust your Heavenly Father to abundantly provide for you?
How has your Heavenly Father shown you mercy and grace?
How is God’s love unconditional and perfect?
Can you forgive your earthly father of his imperfections?
Ask God to heal any father wounds you may have.
Pray using the Lord’s Prayer this week and really think about the words you are saying.
